As part of Dr. Shawn Xiang’s BME 130 course on Biomedical Signals and Systems, over 100 students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering had the opportunity to visit our state-of-the-art medical imaging facility. This immersive field trip showcased advanced imaging technologies, including MRI, CT, PET, and ultrasound, giving students a hands-on glimpse into cutting-edge clinical practice.

The highlight of the event was a lecture by Dr. Vahid Yaghmai, who introduced the students to the latest advancements in medical imaging. The session left the students inspired and energized, particularly those pursuing pre-medical tracks with aspirations to become radiologists, as well as engineering students aiming to innovate in the field of medical imaging research.

This initiative highlights the strong collaboration between the School of Engineering and the School of Medicine, fostering a bridge between disciplines while inspiring and educating the next generation of biomedical engineers and radiologists. Thank you, everyone, for your support in making this event a success!
