Dr. Mahbod Jafarvand
Dr. Mahbod Jafarvand joined our Nuclear Medicine Faculty team in July. She coming to us from University of California, Los Angeles where she was the chief resident. Dr. Jafarvand received her medical degree from Iran University of Medical Sciences. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm for teaching and research to UC Irvine.
Dr. Brian Yep
Dr. Brian Yep was a UCI Radiology fellow who joined Neuroradiology Faculty team. Dr. Yep also did his Diagnostic Radiology residency with us at UC Irvine and was named our chief resident during that time. He received his medical degree from Roslind Franklen University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Yep has clinical interest in Spine Imaging and hopes to contribute to the success of future radiology residents as a new faculty member.
Dr. Hanna Liu
Dr. Hanna Liu is an alumna of UC Irvine and returns to us as one of our newest member of Breast Faculty team. Dr. Liu completed her fellowship at University of California, Los Angeles and received her medical degree from UC Irvine. Along with her professional experience, Dr. Liu also brings with her a passion for teaching and hopes to contribute to the success of the residency program we have at UC Irvine.
Dr. Yousuf Qaseem
Dr. Yousuf Qaseem joined our Interventional Radiology Faculty team in August. Dr. Qaseemwas a interventional radiology chief resident at the University of California, San Diego. He received his medical degree from University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Qaseem joins us with strong background in clinical knowledge and a strong sense of passion for teaching the next generation of radiologist.
Dr. April Ballard
Dr. April Ballard was a former UC Irvine diagnostic radiology resident who joined our Breast Faculty team in August. Dr. Ballard received her medical degree from FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida and just completed a fellowship at University of Southern California. She is excited to continue her journey into academic medicine through teaching and training the future residents that go through our program.
Dr. Tariq Hameed
Dr. Tariq Hameed joins our Cardiothoracic Imaging faculty team, coming from the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Hameed has decades of experience as a radiologist and as a mentor to trainees. He has interest in renal stone imaging and imaging for TAVR and Aorta. Both of these interests are inter-linked with his expertise in computed tomography. We are excited to have Dr. Hameed join our department and we look forward to all the future success he will continue to have here at UCI School of Medicine.
Dr. Cato Chan
Dr. Cato Chan will be joining our CTVI Faculty team in August. Dr. Chan is coming to us from his fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. He finished up his residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and received his medical degree from Keck School of Medicine at UCLA. He hopes to refine his skills as a clinician, educator and researcher with us at UC Irvine.
