Overview
The Oncologic Imaging fellowship program is a comprehensive two-year non-ACGME fellowship program that will consist of training in Abdominal Imaging, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Imaging, Nuclear Medicine PET imaging, and oncologic staging and follow-up imaging. One PGY6 fellow will enter training after completion of internship (PGY1) and diagnostic radiology residency (PGY2-5). These fellows will be supervised by 12 full-time Abdominal faculty, 5 full-time Cardiovascular and Thoracic faculty, 6 full-time Nuclear Medicine faculty, and 8 Clinical Trials Imaging (CTI) Core faculty, all of whom are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
The Abdominal Imaging training months will have an emphasis on cross-sectional abdominal imaging and coordinated experience in CT, Ultrasound, and MRI. We provide an optimal combination of high volume of advanced imaging, case variety, and academic and research time, to produce experts in the field of Abdominal Imaging. Fellows will participate in weekly/bi-weekly multi-disciplinary tumor board conferences where they will present imaging cases.
The Cardiovascular and Thoracic training months will train radiologists to become experts in interpreting all cardiothoracic imaging modalities, including chest x-ray, CT, MRI and vascular studies including angiography, venography, coronary artery imaging, cardiac MRI, and presurgical planning vascular imaging. Fellows will participate in weekly multidisciplinary tumor board conference and vascular surgery conference where they will present imaging cases.
The PET training months are intended to supplement the primary training in abdominal imaging and cardiovascular and thoracic imaging to focus on PET imaging for oncologic conditions, including staging and follow-up.
